- Not much we can do, except until given any real reason not too, we will continue to recognize the folks with Texas VHF-FM Society as the coordination body for Texas.
Our biggest problem down their so far has been a somewhat rogue trustee sort of trying to push one of our repeaters around, and a discussion with a Texas coordinator led us to conclude we should ignore him so we did. We have since learned that the guy is now a silent key so I guess that takes care of the problem.
There was some brief noise made that another coordination group was starting up down their, but so far it just seems to be noise. Nobody, not even Texas VHF-FM’s distracter’s could track this group down and they just seemed to have faded into the sunset.
The other problem we had with Texas was getting responses to NOPC’s from the West Texas coordinator. The other guys have really been great to work with. A new man is on board for West Texas and things are much improved. Also they have a new database system that works better and faster for their coordinators. They finally got rid of a DOS based program that apparently wouldn’t even run on XP.
So what about the mess in Texas? What is ORSI doing about it?
